Eggs anyone?

So, it looks like the new Pope, Pope Benedict XVI, has been elected. I'm not Catholic but I understand the importance of said event. One thing I don't understand however, is his age.

The new Pope was born in 1927. In two years, he'll be 80 years old. I guess if anyone is going to have the best medical coverage money has to buy, it will be the Pope. Then again, because I'm not Catholic, I have no idea about the electorial history of the Papacy surrounding age, but I'd think you'd want someone in the office that had a higher chance of being around a while...or...perhaps you wouldn't?
