Saturday, we took Calista to the Circus and she absolutely loved it for the first 2 hours. After that, it was somewhat like sensory overload and while things didn't get any louder or more chaotic she became somewhat disconnected and uncomfortable.
What a day it was too...To start off with we left the camera in the car and found out when we got into the coloseum we could take pictures. I walked back out to the car before I realized I didn't have the keys, I had given them to Lynn.
I walked back in and she didn't have the keys... after tearing everything apart she figured she left them in the restroom. She went and found them.
I walked back to the car, got the camera came back in and the guards searched mycamera case. Everything was fine but I wasn't allowed to bring in my Zoom lense. “I am not returning to my car a 3rd time“. “No problem, there's a locker behind you“.
I put the lens into the locker, go back to my seat and snap away. At the end of the show...we can't find the keys. I figure, maybe I left them in the locker so I go and get the lens but no keys.
Walk outside but I can't find my family, walk back to the car and they aren't there, walk back to the coloseum and run into everyone outside. Still no keys. I walk back in and the security guard that stopped me with my camera recognizes me and lets me know he turned in my keys to lost and found. Thank you!!!
Then we went to the Chinese New Years Festival at the Peaceful Dragon. Calista loved the Lion Dance but it wasn't as culturally focused as we wanted. It was more of a live interactive commercial to generate business.
I have snapshots of the circus and will post snapshots of the festival if I find any I like.
